Pistorius evaluated the possibility of Germany's participation in a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine.

Germany is considering the possibility of participating in a future peace agreement regarding Ukraine, but believes that there are prior conditions to make specific decisions.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that his country could play its role in ensuring a future ceasefire agreement between Russia and Ukraine. However, he emphasized that it is still early to talk about peacekeeping forces.
Speculation about the possible deployment of European troops in Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire is growing in connection with the expectation of Donald Trump's return to the White House. Trump has declared his intention to seek an immediate ceasefire to end the conflict and shift the responsibility for security to European countries.
Pistorius stated that the decision regarding the presence of troops in Ukraine is premature, as there are no negotiations or prospects for a ceasefire.
'If there is a ceasefire, then Western countries, NATO partners, the UN, and the European Union must discuss how to ensure peace. Obviously, the largest economy in Europe - Germany will take on a certain role,' he said.
However, Pistorius emphasized that Germany's specific role depends on the conditions of the ceasefire and the mandate of the peacekeeping forces, which must be agreed upon by Ukraine and Russia.
It should be noted that Zelensky and Tusk discussed strengthening Ukraine and its path to the EU.
