The European Commissioner wants to see about 100 billion euros for defense in the EU budget.

The European Commissioner for Defense and Space, Andrius Kubilius, stated that he would like to allocate about 100 billion euros for defense in the new European Union budget for the next 7 years. He considers this amount 'ambitious', as currently only 10 billion euros are allocated for defense.
Kubilius noted that Europe must be prepared for possible Russian aggression. If Ukraine does not comply with Russian plans, the likelihood of military aggression against EU countries may increase. He also warns about the continuation of hybrid attacks from Russia.
Kubilius believes that the main enemy of the European Union is Vladimir Putin, the leader of Russia, not the newly elected US President Donald Trump. He hopes that the new US administration understands the threat posed by the 'axis of authoritarian countries', which includes Russia, Iran, North Korea, and partially China.
