American journalist revealed new details about the poisoning of Budanov's wife.

The wife of Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Marianna, secretly visited the USA in December 2024 for treatment following her poisoning. This was reported by American journalist Katie Livingston.

The journalist referred to sources that confirmed Marianna's illness in December 2024. She was brought to the USA at the invitation of American military doctors who learned about her deterioration.

American intelligence services helped Marianna Budanova travel to the USA. An internal investigation into the causes of the poisoning is currently ongoing, and details are still unknown. Journalists from Bellingcat and Insider are also investigating this case.

This is considered an assassination attempt. It is suspected that Marianna Budanova was poisoned through food. She has already completed her course of treatment.
