In Ukraine, the 'conscription age' is being raised: who will be the first on the lists.

Ukraine is considering a new initiative to involve older citizens in military service on a voluntary basis. According to the draft law, men over 60 will be allowed to serve on a contract basis for up to 12 months. During martial law, this opportunity will be available with a medical examination and the commander's consent. The aim of the initiative is to involve older people in the country's defense. Contract recruits will also undergo a two-month probationary period, after which the contract can be extended for up to one year.
'For officers aged 60 and over, the consent of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will also be required,' emphasized Roman Kostenko.
According to the draft law, individuals aged 60 and over will have the opportunity to hold non-combat and officer positions after 2015. The contract for these positions will be for 1 year with the possibility of extension, without additional pay. The Ministry of Defense has expressed certain reservations about this initiative.
