Ukrainians face fines for clothing: who risks paying up to 6800 hryvnias.

Ukraine continues to operate under the law that protects state symbols and honors the memory of fallen defenders, prohibiting the illegal use of military uniforms and state awards.
This law was enacted in 2019 and has clear rules regarding the wearing of military uniforms, as well as penalties for violations.
Who has the right to wear military uniforms in Ukraine:
- Military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations
- Cadets of military educational institutions
- Reservists during training
- Conscripts during military training
- Students of military lyceums
- Retirees and individuals who are in reserve (with relevant documents confirming their right to wear military uniforms)
Administrative liability is provided for violations of these rules. The first violation is punishable by a fine ranging from 2550 to 3400 hryvnias with confiscation of the uniform.
'In the case of repeated violation within a year, the fine increases to 6800 hryvnias, or the offender is assigned community service lasting from 30 to 40 hours,' law enforcement officials emphasize.
Control over compliance with this law is carried out by law enforcement agencies, whose representatives have the authority to check the documents of individuals in military uniforms and draw up administrative protocols in the event of violations.
This law also provides for liability for damaging the graves and memorials of fallen defenders of Ukraine, which is part of a comprehensive approach to protecting state symbols and honoring the memory of fallen warriors.
It is also known that payments to military cadets in Ukraine will be significantly increased.
