Ukraine Sets Conditions for Negotiations with the Russian Federation.

Ukraine Ready to Continue Negotiations with Russia
During an interview for 'We Are Ukraine', the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Kyslytsia, stated that Ukraine demonstrates readiness to continue the negotiation process with Russia. However, the further development of dialogue depends on several key factors.
Kyslytsia emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelensky is actively engaged in forming the delegation and issuing relevant orders for future negotiations. He also noted that the Ukrainian side carefully monitors the implementation of agreements reached in the initial negotiations in Istanbul.
'This is also one of the conditions because we need to see how negotiable the other side is. Therefore, this is important. The location is important, of course. The location is important in both logistical and substantive terms,' - explained Kyslytsia.
The Issue of Location and Dictators
In his speech, Kyslytsia pointed out that Putin's choice of Istanbul for negotiations was not accidental. He believes that Russia laid the groundwork for either Ukraine's refusal or negotiations regarding 2022. However, the most important aspect is the sincerity of intentions and the exchange of information between the parties.
'The primary question is the sincerity of intentions, and generally, when I speak of the sincerity of Russian intentions, that is indeed the maximum itself, along with the level of authorized persons conducting the negotiations,' - he emphasized.
Moreover, the diplomat noted the dictatorial nature of the Russian authorities, where all decisions are concentrated in the hands of one person - Putin.
Details of Previous Negotiations
Kyslytsia also revealed details of previous negotiations and noted that the Russian negotiators rejected the proposal for an unconditional ceasefire at the Istanbul meetings. This, according to the diplomat, indicates Russia's unwillingness for a real agreement on halting hostilities. Ukraine's position regarding future negotiations remains open but will require genuine readiness from the Russian side for dialogue and adherence to the commitments made.
