The US Senate Armed Services Committee has decided to provide Ukraine with military aid amounting to 500 million dollars for 2026 as part of the national defense authorization act. This initiative includes extending security funding for Ukraine until 2028, which is a significant step in supporting the country's defense capabilities during the conflict with the Russian Federation.
The bill also considers national defense funding at the level of 925 billion dollars, allocating a substantial amount for technological advancements, including artificial intelligence, drone technology, and hypersonic weapons to ensure military superiority for the United States. Additionally, the bill takes into account global security threats from China, Iran, and North Korea while outlining strategic approaches to address these issues.
In particular, the questions concerning arms exchange between the US and NATO, which consistently arrives in Ukraine, are being examined to strengthen the country's defense amid the armed conflict. These steps are crucial for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the context of rising tensions in the eastern part of the country.
