Unique exhibition of 'Golden Balls' in Kyiv
A unique exhibition of football trophies - 'Golden Balls', won by Oleg Blokhin, Igor Belanov, and Andriy Shevchenko, will take place in Kyiv. They were presented in Lviv on May 29, and this week they can be seen in Kyiv.
The event will be held at Kontraktova Ploshcha from June 13 to June 15. Hours of operation:
- June 13: from 16:00 to 21:00
- June 14: from 10:00 to 21:00
- June 15: from 10:00 to 19:00
Significant awards of outstanding Ukrainian footballers
Andriy Shevchenko won the 'Golden Ball' in 2004, Belanov in 1986, and Blokhin in 1975. They all played for 'Dynamo' under the guidance of Valeriy Lobanovskyi. Blokhin and Belanov received their awards while playing for the Kyiv club, while Shevchenko received his for 'Milan'.
The 'Golden Ball' award was founded by the French publication France Football in 1956. In other sports news, the Ukrainian national team defeated New Zealand 2:1 in the Canadian Shield tournament. This was the second match for both teams, where the decisive goal was scored by Oleksandr Zinchenko.
