In the first quarter of 2025, Ukraine's state budget expenditures reached 1.2 trillion hryvnias, which is 38.5% more than in the same period of 2024. According to the State Audit Office, the main expenses were for defense and security, which accounted for 73.5% of the total budget expenditures. The most money was spent on the procurement, modernization, and repair of weapons and military equipment. The head of the State Audit Office, Olga Pishchanska, noted that most of the funds allocated to the Ministry of Defense were directed towards armaments, equipment, and machinery. However, overdue accounts receivable continue to grow, mainly due to breaches of contract terms by suppliers or contracts from the Ministry of Defense.Currently, state budget expenditures reflect a sharp increase in defense and security spending compared to last year. However, the issue of overdue accounts receivable persists, requiring attention and resolution of control issues with suppliers.
