A resident of Sumy, Volodymyr Boiko, spoke about his experiences after the attack in the city, how he helped other people, and how he saw the shocked faces around him. The man's story was published by Censor.NET.

That day, Boiko was taking bus route 62 to the city center. There were many people, so he asked others to stand up so that a woman with a child could sit down. After that, he moved from the center of the bus to the back. Near school number 4, he heard the first explosion, and people began to discuss who could be behind it.

After the halfway mark of the stops, the second explosion occurred. It was difficult for Boiko to describe his impressions at that moment. He quickly leaned into the space between the seats, where a woman with a child was sitting, and this saved him. When he raised his head, he saw shocked faces of people. The bus doors were blown out but did not open.

Boiko and another passenger climbed out through the broken window and helped open the doors so that people could exit. Then he assisted the wounded and those on the brink of life.

Later, Boiko realized that his face was completely covered in blood, but he was able to save the lives of others. Boiko's story is a testament to the horrific attack in Sumy, where there were many casualties and injuries.
