According to Stocker, Putin is skeptical about this proposal and sees Vienna as a hostile place.
Stocker emphasized that Russia has launched an aggressive war against Ukraine, violating international law. He stressed that Austria supports a just and stable peace and cannot be placed on the same level as the aggressor.
The Chancellor also noted that Austria is ready to offer itself as a venue for talks and supports any efforts aimed at achieving peace. He highlighted that Ukraine should be present at the negotiations, and Europe must play an active role.
