Ordinary Ukrainians were not prepared for this: electricity tariffs from June 1 and rising utility prices.

Utility prices in Ukraine have risen by nearly 20%
Over the past year, utility prices in Ukraine have significantly increased. From March 2024 to March 2025, tariffs have generally risen by 20.2%. Electricity has become particularly expensive, with its price rising by 63.6%.
The information about the price increase was provided by 'State Statistics', referring to research.
In addition to electricity, the services for managing apartment buildings have also increased in price (+19.1%) and waste collection (+10.7%). The cost of maintenance and repair of housing rose by 3.2%, water supply by 0.7%, and sewage by 0.6%.
At the same Time, prices for natural gas, hot water, and heating have remained at their previous level.
'We do not have any discussions regarding tariffs in the government. We have not considered the possibility of raising tariffs in the near future,' said Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal earlier.
The government states that after the end of the heating season on April 30 this year, the electricity tariff will remain unchanged. Throughout May, June, and the following months, Ukrainians will continue to pay 4.32 UAH per 1 kW*hour.
Regarding gas, in April we will pay according to the annual tariffs, which are valid from May 1, 2024, to April 30, 2025. For 'Naftogaz' clients, this will amount to 7.96 UAH per cubic meter of gas.
The total cost of gas for the population under the annual tariffs ranges from 7.79 to 9.99 UAH depending on the supplier. The monthly price varies from 8.46 to 20.99 UAH per cubic meter.
We also remind you that the NBU predicts a slowdown in inflation: what to expect for prices until the end of the year.
Analysis
Increasing tariffs for utilities in Ukraine may pose a significant financial challenge for citizens. In particular, rising electricity prices may lead to increased household consumption costs and a higher cost of living. The government claims it will maintain electricity prices after the heating season ends, but it will be necessary to closely monitor further developments in the energy sector.
