During the latest repatriations, the Russian Federation transferred the bodies of its soldiers to Ukraine - Ministry of Internal Affairs.

A difficult but very important mission - identification of the fallen soldiers. The return of the bodies of the fallen is one of the hardest, yet extremely necessary missions. After each repatriation, painstaking work begins: autopsy, thorough examination by investigators, DNA testing, checking every detail. This was reported by 'Glavkom' referring to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko.
The Minister emphasized that Russia artificially complicates the identification process: 'The bodies return in a severely mutilated state, body parts are in different bags. There have been cases where the remains of one person are returned even during different stages of repatriation.'
During the latest repatriations, the bodies of Russian soldiers were also handed over, mixed with the bodies of Ukrainians. This may indicate either deliberate actions by the Russians to complicate identification and impose an additional task on Ukrainian experts, or their careless attitude towards their own citizens. Nevertheless, Ukrainian experts continue to identify each body, no matter how it may be.
During the war in eastern Ukraine, the identification of the fallen's bodies has become an extremely important procedure for the families of the military and the entire country. Ukrainian experts continue to do their work and overcome all difficulties to bring the deceased home.
