Pensions Without Borders: New Payment Rules Will Affect All Ukrainians.

New Pension Payment Rules in Ukraine
Ukraine has made changes to the rules for receiving pensions, which are now available to all retirees, regardless of their location. The Cabinet of Ministers has made a decision that simplifies the pension payment process for citizens who are in Ukraine, in temporarily occupied territories, or abroad.
Previously, there were separate rules for those who received IDP certificates before February 24, 2022, or who were abroad. This complicated access to funds. Now, the rules have become unified, and retirees can receive payments through any bank in Ukraine, not just Oschadbank.
In addition, for retirees living abroad or in temporarily occupied territories, mandatory annual identity verification has been introduced. Identification must take place no later than December 31 of each year. Also, retirees living in temporarily occupied territories must make at least one financial transaction in their bank account every six months.
These rules have been introduced to verify that the pension recipient living outside Ukraine receives their pension personally and does not receive a pension from the Russian Federation.
To confirm this fact, the retiree must write a statement and submit it to the Pension Fund of Ukraine.
