Passports 'New Post', driver's licenses: e-Consul services for Ukrainians abroad will launch.

Ukraine expands digital consular services for its citizens abroad
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha announced the expansion of digital consular services for Ukrainians abroad in 2025. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Wednesday, January 22, Sybiha congratulated Ukrainians on Unity Day, thanked the defenders for protecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and emphasized the importance of unity among the Ukrainian people both at home and abroad.
The Minister announced the simplification of access to consular services abroad thanks to the introduction of the e-Consul system. There are also plans to launch automated notarial services at all Ukrainian diplomatic institutions abroad.
'This means that in e-Consul, you will be able to choose the type of the necessary power of attorney or statement, if necessary - add information, and during your visit to the consulate, a document ready for signing will be waiting for you. Saving Time and effort,' declared Sybiha.
New digital services for the most popular services will also be launched. In addition, starting in February, in some countries, it will be possible to obtain a foreign passport with courier delivery at an affordable price with 'New Post'.
'There will be no need to visit the diplomatic institution twice, look for available time in line, and spend time and money on a repeated visit to receive the ready passport. Fill in the necessary data in advance on the Diia portal, arrive in person once to submit biometrics, and after processing, receive the ready passport by mail,' the minister said.
In the second half of 2025, a comprehensive service for registering the birth of a child abroad will be introduced, which will include birth registration, acquiring citizenship of Ukraine, registration in the State Register of Individuals - Taxpayers, and adding the child to the Unified State Demographic Register. It is also planned to facilitate the issuance of a tax number and ID card in Ukrainian diplomatic institutions. Other new tools to simplify access to consular services will be announced this year.
Sybiha emphasized that Ukrainians abroad will have access to courier delivery of passports, the ability to choose the type of power of attorney or statement in e-Consul, obtaining a driver's license, other digital services, and registering a child. The minister emphasized that this demonstrates the state's care for its citizens abroad and the preservation of unity and respect.
