Over 60% of internally displaced persons spend half of their income on housing rent
According to the study by the International Organization for Migration, over 60% of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine spend half of their income on housing rent. On average, IDPs pay about 8500 hryvnias for housing from their income of 13561 hryvnias.
For 38% of IDPs, housing expenses account for 70% of their family budget. Most IDPs (53%) live in apartments, a third in houses. Some are forced to settle for rooms or temporary housing.
IOM Study
These data were obtained during the 17th round of the General Population Survey by the International Organization for Migration. The study covered 40000 randomly selected respondents, including IDPs, returnees, and local residents.
