Macron calls for a ceasefire in Ukraine
The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, has called for an immediate ceasefire in Ukraine, stating that Russia is mocking the offers of peace talks with its constant shelling.
He wrote this on social media.
Macron noted that on the night of April 6, Russia again carried out numerous airstrikes on Ukrainian cities, in addition to a strike on Kryvyi Rih on Friday, which resulted in the deaths of 9 children.
'On this day of national mourning in Ukraine, my thoughts are with the children and all the civilian victims of the deadly strikes inflicted by Russia'
The French leader also reminded that Ukraine has unconditionally agreed to US President Donald Trump’s proposal for a 30-day ceasefire, but Russia continues the war with the same intensity and does not care about civilian casualties.
'These Russian strikes must be stopped. A ceasefire is urgently needed. And decisive actions, if Russia continues trying to buy Time and refuses to agree to a truce. How many more times will Russia mock the peace proposals from the US and Ukraine while continuing to kill children and other civilians?'
Let us remind you that in the morning of April 6, Russian occupiers carried out a missile attack on Kyiv, resulting in fires in three districts of the city, with casualties reported.
