MP Kucherenko proposes the head of the Energy Committee, Herus, to voluntarily resign.

Demands for a change of the head of the Energy Committee
Olexiy Kucherenko, a member of the Ukrainian parliament, expressed his position regarding the necessity of changing the head of the Committee on Energy and Housing and Communal Services. He believes that the current head of the committee, Andriy Herus, obstructs parliamentary control over the government and energy monopolies.
According to Kucherenko, necessary changes to the statutes of state energy companies Ukrenergo and the Gas Transmission System Operator aim to increase the accountability of state bodies for managing these companies. He calls for Herus's resignation and assures that there are adequate candidates for this position in 'Servant of the People', which is important for the country's energy security.
… I personally stand categorically for it! That is why I support the actions of the government and the Ministry of Energy in this direction! Now we just need to restore the mechanisms of parliamentary and public control over the activities of the government and energy monopolies. The first step here should be the voluntary resignation of the head of the energy committee, Mr. Herus, from his position due to complete failure of work and professional unsuitability! …
According to YouControl R&D center, Andriy Herus's wealth at the end of 2024 amounted to 70.4 million UAH, which is a significant increase compared to 2020, when it was about 38 million UAH.
The parliamentary deputy expressed his position regarding the change of the head of the Energy Committee, supporting the necessity of personnel changes in this area to enhance the country's energy security. In his statements, he emphasized the importance of parliamentary control over the activities of the government and energy monopolies.
The parliamentary deputy expressed outrage regarding the work of the head of the Energy Committee and suggested changing this position to ensure effective control over Ukraine's energy sector.Read also
