Macron called to avoid double standards regarding conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Macron calls for not applying double standards in conflicts
French President Emmanuel Macron spoke at the Francophonie Summit with a call for the international community not to apply double standards when assessing global conflicts, including those happening in Ukraine and the Middle East. He emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian aggression, but also highlighted the need for equal treatment of all conflicts in the world.
Macron also drew attention to the situation in Lebanon, where there is a threat to sovereignty and peace due to the conflict between Israel and the "Hezbollah" group. He stressed that to achieve peace in the Middle East, the issue of two states - Palestine and Israel, with security guarantees for the latter, needs to be resolved.
Earlier, the President of Lithuania also criticized the application of double standards in relation to assistance to Israel and Ukraine, particularly in shooting down missiles and drones by NATO. He reminded of the need for equal support in both cases.
