The Constitutional Court of Romania annulled the results of the presidential elections due to foreign interference.

The Constitutional Court of Romania made an incredible decision regarding the first round of the 2024 presidential elections. According to Digi24, the court decided to conduct the entire electoral process anew. The decision was made at an emergency meeting after numerous requests to annul the election results. This move is based on declassified documents from the High Council of National Defense, which revealed an organized manipulation campaign abroad in favor of the pro-Russian candidate Kelín Georgescu.
Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu supported the court's decision, calling it 'the only sensible step' after discovering attempts to influence the election results. He also claims that an investigation is needed to identify the individuals responsible for this interference.
The leader of the far-right party 'Alliance for the Union of Romanians,' George Simion, criticizes the decision, calling it a coup d'état, but urges to maintain calm. At the same Time, the pro-Western candidate Elena Lasconi sharply criticizes this interference in democratic processes.
