North Korea prepares reinforcements for troops in Russia: will this improve the situation in Kursk?.

North Korea may need new military personnel in Russia
Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) report that North Korea is likely to deploy new military personnel in Russia by mid-March 2025. This is necessary to strengthen attacks in the Kursk region. According to the New York Times, additional North Korean forces will arrive in Russia within the next two months. The number of troops and their purpose are unknown.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea reported that North Korea may be preparing to deploy additional forces in Ukraine and to position military equipment in Russia. According to Western officials, North Korean forces have already suffered significant losses during fighting in Russia.
ISW analysts speculate that the new North Korean contingent could be killed or wounded by mid-April 2025. This will result from the replacement of the previous contingent. However, these forces will not help improve Russian operations and are likely to suffer significant losses that are already occurring now.
Russian troops have managed to take back some of the captured territory in Kursk, but Ukrainian forces hold dozens of settlements in the region. Fighting continues in several areas, including in Suja and the surrounding villages.
