Over the weekend, July 19 and 20, unstable weather is expected in Ukraine. Many regions are anticipating short rains with thunderstorms, while air temperatures will be moderate or summery heat.

Weather forecast for the weekend from Nataliya Didenko

On Saturday, July 19, stormy rains are forecasted in the west and north of Ukraine. Overnight, precipitation may also occur in the center and east of the country, but it will remain dry in the south. The expected air temperatures will be:

  • western regions: +20…+24 °C;
  • north: +24…+26 °C;
  • center: +25…+28 °C, in Vinnytsia region — up to +20…+22 °C;
  • east: +26…+27 °C in Kharkiv region, up to +32…+35 °C in Luhansk and Donetsk regions;
  • south: +27…+30 °C, in Zaporizhzhia and steppe Crimea — up to +34 °C.

On Sunday, July 20, short rains with thunderstorms will continue in the west and north. In the evening, rainfall is possible in Luhansk region, while other regions will remain dry. Temperatures will remain nearly unchanged compared to Saturday.

In Kyiv, July 19–20, variable cloudiness with rain and thunderstorms is expected. Daytime temperatures will be +20…+23 °C.

Forecast for the next week

Starting from Sunday, temperatures will rise. On Monday, most regions will feel a return of heat, except for the west, where a noticeable cooling is expected. In the south of the country, warmth will continue, while a weakening of heat is anticipated after July 26.

Weather in Ukraine over the weekend will be unstable, with short rains and thunderstorms. Air temperatures during the day will range from mild to summery heat. Next week, an increase in temperatures is expected, along with a return of heat in most regions.
