The head of the board of the civic network 'Opposition', Olga Aivazovska, explained when post-war elections in Ukraine may take place.
She noted that the date of the elections should be determined depending on the end of martial law, as well as considering international practice. According to this, post-conflict elections usually require 9-12 months of preparation. Olga Aivazovska also emphasized that it is necessary to ensure safety throughout the country, especially in the context of possible shelling. She also believes that a separate law is needed to define the rules for conducting elections in a post-war state, taking into account various scenarios and threats to national security.
The USA stated the necessity for elections in Ukraine during the war, while Russia spreads fakes about the illegitimacy of the government in the country.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that there can be no elections during the war, and Ukraine is ready to explain this to its partners in conversations.
