Up to 1700 hryvnias fine: what drivers need to know about car maintenance now.

Important changes in the road traffic rules of Ukraine: repair and washing of cars in public places are prohibited
Oleksandr Metolidi, the author of the channel "AUTO PROJECT", in his new video, discusses important changes in the road traffic rules of Ukraine regarding the repair and washing of cars in public places.
Metolidi explains: "In Ukraine, new rules regarding the repair and maintenance of cars have come into effect. According to Article 152 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, drivers are now prohibited from conducting repairs, maintenance, or washing of vehicles on streets and in other public places".
The author notes that this practice was widespread since Soviet times: "Since the Soviet Union times, many car owners, especially those not very affluent, who indeed save every penny, have taken the habit of repairing or washing their iron horses right in the yard".
Metolidi emphasizes the problems this creates for others: "For example, you came out of your house into the yard to walk with your child, you see a man disassembling his car. Here he has some technical fluids pouring right onto the asphalt... You might step into it, or the child might step into it. Somehow, it’s at least unpleasant".
Regarding the penalties for violating the new rules, Metolidi informs: "Penalties are provided for violating these rules - a fine ranging from 50 to 100 untaxed minimum incomes of citizens. In monetary terms, this amounts to from 850 to 1700 hryvnias".
The author also warns of possible consequences: "In every apartment building, in every such yard, there are a certain number of elderly women, like grandmothers, local overseers, who love to complain about anything... Of course, they will gladly take advantage and will complain about any attempts to wash or repair, or do anything with the car in places not allowed for this".
In conclusion, Metolidi advises: "Repair and wash your cars either in specialized workshops and car washes or on your own in specially designated areas, so as not to disturb other citizens with your actions".
