U.S. Secretary of State makes a statement regarding the war between Russia and Ukraine.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed his opinion on the necessity to end the war in Ukraine through negotiations, where each side must make compromises.
'First of all, let me say: we consider what Putin did to be horrible. The invasion of another country, the atrocities he committed – he did terrible things,' he said in an interview with Megyn Kelly, according to Ukrinform.
However, according to him, there was initially 'dishonesty' when the American administration made people believe that Ukraine could defeat Russia. Rubio criticizes the previous approach of supporting Ukraine and calls its funding a 'dead-end situation' that has led to greater suffering.
He notes that it 'sets Ukraine back 100 years' as Ukraine's energy infrastructure is being destroyed, many Ukrainians are leaving and settling abroad permanently.
'This affects their future, and it is threatening,' he summarizes.
The U.S. Secretary of State emphasizes that President Trump considers this conflict prolonged and that it needs to be concluded. Therefore, he stresses the necessity of negotiations, where each side must concede something.
Rubio expresses confidence that there is a need to use 'tough diplomacy,' but both sides must sacrifice something in the negotiations, and it will take Time.
Additionally, the U.S. Secretary of State emphasizes that President Trump understands that the goal is to end this conflict, as both Russia and Ukraine are paying a high price.
