Prices for Eggs and Chicken in Ukraine: Where to Buy More Profitably.


The latest monitoring of food prices in Ukraine has shown a significant increase in prices for eggs and chicken compared to last month.
According to the Ministry of Finance, you can compare prices in different supermarkets.
Egg prices have risen by 4-8%. The most significant price increase occurred for a pack of 30 "Yasensvit" eggs - by 8.84% (from 122.20 UAH to 133.00 UAH), which are sold only in Megamarket.
Price comparison of eggs in different supermarkets:
- "Kvocka" eggs (10 pcs): Auchan - 44.90 UAH, Novus - 38.89 UAH. The average price is 41.35 UAH, which is 4% more expensive than in September.
- "Yasensvit" eggs (10 pcs): Auchan - 41.90 UAH, Novus - 41.39 UAH, Megamarket - 45.20 UAH. The average price is 42.83 UAH.
- "Yasensvit" eggs (18 pcs): Auchan - 74.40 UAH, Metro - 69.50 UAH, Novus - 72.99 UAH. The average price is 72.30 UAH.
Chicken prices vary significantly depending on the supermarket and type of product.
Price comparison of chicken:
- Chicken thigh: Novus - 99.99 UAH/kg, Megamarket - 116.00 UAH/kg. The average price is 108.00 UAH/kg.
- Chicken drumstick: Novus - 59.99 UAH/kg, Megamarket - 76.90 UAH/kg. The average price is 68.45 UAH/kg.
- Chicken fillet: Novus and Auchan - 174.00 UAH/kg, Megamarket - 175.00 UAH/kg. The average price is 174.33 UAH/kg.
- "Nasha Ryaba" thigh: Metro - 129.90 UAH/kg, Novus - 159.00 UAH/kg, Auchan - 152.00 UAH/kg. The average price is 146.97 UAH/kg.
- "Nasha Ryaba" fillet: Metro - 193.90 UAH/kg, Novus - 209.00 UAH/kg, Megamarket - 169.90 UAH/kg, Auchan - 164.90 UAH/kg. The average price is 184.43 UAH/kg.
Price analysis shows that:
- Novus has the lowest prices on "Kvocka" eggs and some types of chicken.
- Megamarket has the highest prices on "Yasensvit" eggs but the lowest on "Nasha Ryaba" fillet.
- Metro offers the lowest prices on "Nasha Ryaba" fillet but the highest on thighs of the same brand.
It can be noted that the price difference between supermarkets can reach 20-30% on certain types of products. This allows for savings when choosing where to buy.
