Russian propagandists invented a story about a girl named Katya, who, according to them, wants to return to 'dirty' Russia from New York. However, this girl is actually someone else named Anya, and she comes from Belarus. This investigation was conducted by the portal 'Nasha Niva'.

Russian propagandists often spread misinformation about life in the West, and this case is yet another example of such practice. The girl who became the 'heroine' of the video not only does not want to return to Russia but also lives in another city in the United States, where she is doing well.

Discrepancy between fiction and reality

Initially, information was spread about 'Katya from Yekaterinburg' who lives in Manhattan and longs for Russia. However, later it was discovered that the girl has a different name and background, and she has no plans to return to Russia. Her story is another example of how Russian media spread fakes and fabrications.

Similar attempts by Russian media to manipulate information have been refuted, including by Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs Kuleba. This is just one of the examples of fakes spread by Russian propagandists.
