Lithium Reserves of 490 Million Tons — What Valuable Metal Has Been Found in China.

Modern people cannot imagine their lives without smartphones, laptops, tablets, and other gadgets that work thanks to batteries containing a key element — lithium. Lithium is considered one of the most valuable resources on Earth, so countries with significant reserves of this metal become important in the global economy.
Geologists in China have discovered a massive lithium deposit in Hunan province, where it is estimated that there could be up to 490 million tons of lithium ore. Other important minerals have also been found here, such as rubidium, tungsten, and tin, which increase the strategic significance of the deposit.
What Other Wealth Has Been Found in the Deposit
In the deposit near the city of Chenzhou, besides lithium ore, tungsten and tin have also been found, as well as rubidium, which is needed for the production of special glass or electronics. This alleviates the problem of sourcing these resources, as they are abundant in one place.
How the Discovery Will Affect the Global Economy
China, which is the largest producer and consumer of lithium-ion batteries, can now reduce its dependence on lithium imports, as the discovery of such a large deposit will change the landscape of the global market for this resource.
Previously, scientists had already made breakthroughs in mining, having invented a new method for obtaining lithium, which will also contribute to battery production. It's also interesting where copper is mined.
For many countries around the world, especially electronics and electric vehicle manufacturers, the discovery of a large lithium deposit in China could be a very important event, as it will help meet the demands for this strategic resource and reduce dependence on imports.Read also
